Food and wine shopping


Typical products of the area can be bought at good prices at Garfagnana Coop, very near ‘’Il Mulin Vecchio’’. Here you can buy spelt, chestnut and spelt flour, dried chestnuts, jam made from local fruit, vegetables in oli and dried mushrooms

Cooking Lessons

If you are interested in learning how to cook the typical products of the area, you can book your lesson, on your arrival, at the cost of 5€ for person. At the end of the lesson you can eat what has been prepared or you can take it back to your flat. Here are some recipes to choose  :

  • Spelt soup or salated spelt cake in the wood oven
  • Castagnaccio, a cake made with chestnet flour, delicious as a cake but aldo be enjoyed whit savoury food
  • Necci, similar to crepes, but made whit chestnut flour coke in a special iron mould
  • Making the tipical local bread (whith potatoes) and coking it in the wood oven
  • Making jams or oil vegetables
